As I’ve said in many of speeches, I intend to take the job of Mayor of Tauranga City as a serious one.
It involves your money, your health & safety, and your welfare.
But it goes beyond that - as Mayor I will not only safeguard all those essential elements but I will also be the biggest champion for our community and region.
If the mayor cannot stand up and shout the virtues of our city, then who can? I will be that outspoken advocate for our city and region, locally, nationally, and internationally.
I have a vision for Tauranga and I can see it as clear as day.
Imagine a regionally, nationally and globally connected city. A bold, smart city that embraces partnerships, respects and connects our people through the generations, nurtures our environment with an active focus on sustainability, and celebrates our leadership position as New Zealand’s epicenter for culture, innovation, entrepreneurship and investment
For this to happen, I will bring a compassionate and collaborative leadership style, with abundant team building experience.
I will work diligently with our city Chief Executive to transform the Tauranga City Council into a responsive, efficient and trusted organisation. An organisation that makes pragmatically sound decisions, delivers on its promises, and works for our culturally diverse community.
This election year, you have choice. There are some very good council candidates running. Many I’ve met are intelligent and passionate, and they represent the diversity that comprises many of Tauranga’s communities.
This year vote for change. This year vote for leadership.
